Conclusion:

1. In simple words the only thing that can let you buy canon A480 is that its a latest model with more megapixels.
2. Canon A480 is the newly introduced camera in market in A series canon powershot digital cameras. The above mentioned comparison has made it clear that there is not much difference between canon A470 and canon A480 digital cameras except that the canon A480 digital camera is 10 megapixels camera where as canon A470 is 7 megapixels. All other difference are minor and does not help us making decision in favor of A480.
3. As we all know the importance of Megapixels are not that as it will only enhance your picture size, picture quality and detail will remain the same for both cameras so if you currently own canon A470 digital camera or a similar one then there is no need to spend extra $30 bucks for Canon A480.
