I found Canon SD880is an excellent small camera. it produces very sharp pictures, both in the center and the edges.

Canon SD990 IS Great Camera indeeed, I bought it to upgrade from my PowerShot A720 IS (8 MP). The thought of having 14.7MP was too good and the pictures it takes are astounding with excellent clarity and detail. I really love it. However a big drawback is that it doesn’t take High Resolution video like the SD900 & SD880.

I have first bought the 880IS camera, but i have soon realized that I couldn’t go without an optical viewfinder or manual control. So I have exchanged it with 990IS, with which I’m much happier.

I am using Canon SD880 and the problem the i have faced with it is the noise. Even at a very low ISO I see the noise everywhere in the picture.
I tried using the lower pixel count but they are still visible. I can not say anything about SD990 however this problem can be overcome if you want you’ve taken a few photos and zoom them out in playback mode.

I bought SD880 IS camera, a great digital camera ever! It is a definitely bit expensive but for teh features it is worth it. It is the NEWEST of the digital elph line along with the 990is. SD990 I would have gotten the 990is, but it was more than I could afford
