I would prefer to buy Canon SD960 IS for the movie resolution as its higher than the Canon Sd1300. You can play the movies on bigger screens with bigger resolution and the movies are like as if they are made from a HandyCam. If you do not make lots of movies than you can buy either camera however for movie lovers SD960 is better
If you are buying SD1300 IS it will be better for the resale as its newly released.
