Digital SLR Accessories For Beginners & Amateur Photographer
As an amateur photographer you might get confused what apparatus or products you may initially need to take better photos. You will find many fancy products in the market but you need to analyze before buying them. Here we will be discussing the exact products you need to buy to start photography.
Digital SLR Camera:

Camera Lens
Normal practice is that you may get a lens with your DSLR camera however there are several offers and places where the camera body is offered only. The DSLR camera will not work without attaching a lens. So buy a lens compatible with your camera along with the camera. The camera lens included might not fulfill every need of yours however it will be sufficient enough till you learn the photography. Then according to your need you can buy another one because it expensive and there is a wide collection of lens according to photographer needs, a lens suitable for landscape might not be suitable for a portrait so make this decision later on.
Memory Card
A must have off course however the question is how big the size must be? It depends how many megapixels are there on your camera. The more the megapixels the bigger space you will need. I would recommend the use of 16GB memory card for cameras 10 megapixels and up. The reason is that turning pro photographer needs to take picture like a pro means he needs to save pictures in RAW format & maximum resolution because later on you might want to change picture settings or need a part of picture cropped. So buy maximum space on a memory card so that you may able to store up-to 1000 picture at one time. I would also recommend a fast memory card of a good company like Kingston or SanDisk because camera will write data fast on memory card and it will not crash, stuck or simple do not show pictures. Camera Bag
Another essential part, you might buy a smaller bag for the camera initially and with the time pass depending upon the need you may buy a bigger one. The bag is essential because its difficult to carry a camera all the time as it is. The camera needs care and might get scratched up. Use the bag and save your camera.
Camera Strap, Lens Cover, Battery Charger
These essentials will already be added with your camera still if you have not bought a new one and an essential is missing you can always buy that. Some people keep the extra battery with them so that they can change it easily. As a beginner you will not need one. Just charge your battery before taking pictures and you may use it for days however if you do not find time to charge it or you are lazy enough then buy a new one initially to keep it with you all the time.
UV Lens Filter
There are many filters in market you might be confused about which one to buy at first hand. Do not worries you just need a UV filter that is the most important. Not only because it save your camera lens from scratches and dust but also because it reduces the haze of bright light at day time. Make sure it fits your camera’s lens + it takes the came lens cap if not it should come with an extra cap.
There are other filters as well that will depends what type of photography you want. For nature shots you might need a polarizer filter (To enhance sky color & to reduce water / glass reflections) or for portrait photography you might need diffusion filters (to soften picture) but these things will come on later on.
Tripod
If you want to take any shot at night that I am sure you would love to do you must have a tripod, a table tripod will not be sufficient sometime so buy a full length tripod it will not cost you much. I initially bought a Targus tripod that only cost me $10.
Lens cleaning kit
You will need it later on or you might never know when you need it so buy it at first hand. I mistakenly had a finger print on my camera’s screen that made me real worried because it won’t get away with simple cloth or brush. You will need a microfiber cloth to clean it. I bought a typical lens cleaning kit that consist of micro fiber cloth, lens cleaning solution, blower with brush and tissue paper. Bought it for $5 only
Other Notes
You might also buy the camera remote initially if you need to take pictures of your own or might need to take photos at night from a distance it’s not that expensive so you can also buy that.
So in short do not buy expensive camera wit kits with accessories you might not need or low quality accessories. Instead buy a camera and all the important accessories separately if it cost more than a perfect kit then go for a kit. People might suggest you to buy an external flash initially but you need to experiment first with the built in flash. It works in many situations. Once you get to know why you need an external flash you can buy that.
