Pros/ Positive features / Advantages:
- Full keyboard is easy to use with help of shortcut keys for SMS, music & WiFi
- Touch screen is very handy and magnetic stylus is a great 2nd option.
- Call quality is good, no static or echoes, very little noise.
- The top portion of the home screen allows you to check battery status, data connection settings, running programs, available memory and other useful information quickly (just like a task manager in Windows).
- Text messaging follows the message history so you can check the whole previous conversation.
- Wireless connection options that supports AT&T’s 3G/HSDPA network. Connection to a Wifi network surprisingly fast for this little device.
- Very Useful applications including calendar, mail, instant messaging with AIM, Yahoo, etc. Excel, PowerPoint & Word are included.
- The 3.2 Megapixels camera takes real, useable pictures with lots of editing features and a flashlight for low light pictures.
- Supports HSUPA (needs to be unlocked), which increases upload speeds ten-fold (for me at least), which allows much snappier web-browsing
- MicroSDHC expansion slot, allowing up to 32 GB of extra memory
WinMo has more available apps than most other smartphone platforms, and is very easy to develop new apps for WM - Accelerometers- might seem gimmicky at first (Teeter is a fun game), the ability to mute a phone call by turning it face-down is surprisingly useful
Cons/ Negative features / Disadvantages:
- Like all other 3g phone the battery wears out quickly
- Small screen
- No 3.5 headphone jack
- AT&T bloat ware, trial software wasting precious space
- The alarm clock notification isn’t as easy to shut off, in fact most notifications are a little annoying.
- The phone is heavy, but not ridiculously large. It feels solid.
- The touch screen is sometimes less responsive than expected but I believe that is more because the phone is sometimes slow in operation.
Over all experience, review:
Over all after comparing the positive and negative feature we came to the conclusion that the phone is excellent for mobile web browsing, typing text messages and actually doing real work. The touch screen and scroll wheel really work well to streamline interactions.
The phone is an excellent smart phone with great usability, excellent functionality in a great package. If you can excuse the mediocre video playback and lack of OpenGL ES support, this is an ideal phone. But if you’re looking for a robust multimedia device that can handle 640×480 videos as well as 3D games, I’d suggest avoiding HTC phones until they fix their drivers.
Same phone is offered with different name of HTC Touch pro by Verizon wireless that works with CDMA technology however functionality wise there is no difference between these two sets.
