Conclusion:

  1. Very few similarities among which the camera take pictures on same resolution and the optical zoom is 10x that is excellent, enough if you want to take pictures of moon. Battery type is different but the battery hold time is not much different + both cameras a easy to use, not very difficult, just explore the camera fully once and you are good to use it next time easily

  2. Canon SX120 has smaller sensor however in small sensor pixels are dense than the Sony H20 means the picture quality with same CCD sensor on both cameras will not be very different.

  3. Canon offers better ISO lower range 80 that helps taking crisp and clear pictures in daylight however 100 ISO the difference between pictures taken with 80 or 100 ISO might not be visible to human eye. Canon offers better lower aperture range that helps focusing near objects better

  4. Sony H20 has excellent flash range 7.1m, means its flash is powerful and capture better pictures in dark as compare to the 3m flash range of canon. Sony H20 is almost double in speed in taking continuous pictures, you can take 1.8 picture in once second as compare to less than once picture 0.9 is one second.

Both cameras offers excellent features however Sony H20 features are better considering that it take better pictures in dark, you can make movies in bigger resolution and later on can enjoy watching them on your HDTV. Sony H20 is faster and save your time without waiting for the camera to be ready for next picture.
